Watched Sweeney Todd on monday n again 2 days later...it was a wonderful musical-turned-movie about a barber (the then Benjamin Barker) framed n put to jail for 15 yrs by judge Turpin who lusted his wife. That he returned as Sweeney Todd to take revenge against the judge who broke up his family n hoping to meet his wife Lucy n daughter Johanna. The songs inside r very nice too. Gloomy n dark movie. Johnny Depp really do bring out the character alive.

It seems so sudden. Very sudden. Received a call from Mom n she told me local comedian MC King passed away. As like many pple who know him tot it was a joke, it wasn't.

Many yrs back, there was this actor who acted as a character who kept taking MC in the drama n thus nicknamed as 'MC King'. Since then, the name became part of him n pple address him as 'MC' or 'MC King' rather than his real name.

He is a funny guy n bring laughters to many audiences n listeners. Waking up early in the morning n listening to his radio programme is wad i often did many years back n without fail, he sure bring laughters n smiles with his jokes. Nowadays i read his interesting blog.

Now that he's gone,only left were memories of his jokes n laughters.

It was dreadful when my boss organized a hair design competition for the company's 8th anniversary n we(the assistants) were forced to take part in. Since we will be competiting with the stylists we really have no high chance of winning n thus join for the sake of (forced) joining. Theme is 'Desire - What hairstyle women desire'

1st prize is a 6 days 5 nite Japan trip with accomodation.
2nd prize is a hk trip air ticket only.
3rd prize is a bangkok trip air ticket only.

Planned on the haircut n colors for about 2 wks. Basically i just apply wad i learnt in the past n combine them la...not going to bother to think about funny ideas. Haircut design from school, hi-lite design from Goldwell class, color combi from a newspaper cutting. Discussed this idea with Cha n everything is set for the hair.

For the clothings i got them from Ah Di. She does very nice designs that r ready-to-wear without much hassles. A new idea actually popped out during the try-out on the clothings n the concept will be 'Easy to style, Ready to wear'.
A combi of me n ah Di's concept. Our wish came true this time when long ago we talked about coorperating with each other on hair n clothings.

On Nov 18th n 19th, competitors were preparing on the models on the colors n designs until 1130pm on both days. It was fun as the whole salon belonged to us for the both nights. Talked n laughed loudly like nobody's biz.

Nov 20th : The actual competition day. All the staffs from other branches have to attend this event. There were 8 judges from other companies n professions. All preparations have to be done on that morning n start off at 930am for an hour live cut n styling. 12 of us were highly concentrating on our job to try our best. Kinda nervous tho...

During the presentation, i mentioned i will show the judges on a day n nite look. Everyone can transformed themselves to look different with a spray n some wax. I strongly emphasized on simplicity.

Cha, Yee Chong n me.

Basically among the 12 of us, only mine was the simplest. They really put in effort on make up, clothing n styling. All i did was blow straight n volume on top becos i couldnt bothered to do so much la.

During the D&D the result was announced. Consolation prize winners were called up one by one. Mine not heard. Top 5, none of mine. Then i was surprised to be in top 3 with a stylist n a colorist. Was in a shocked when i was announced to be in 2nd place!!! The stylist came in 1st. Couldnt believe it until now...Cha was very happy for me.

Oct 13th Sunday

Mum's birthday was two days ago. So me n bro decided to bring her for a treat n also a family gathering. I chose Crystal Jade Ginseng Chicken BBQ. Its a Korean style restaurant whereby u can have ur dishes being prepared by the kitchen staff or DIY especially the meat where u can bbq them on the hotplate in the centre of the table. For the quality n quantity of the food i can say its not very expensive.

Happened that Pornsak came n had his hair done. So i requested from him a surprise call to my mum n make birthday wishes. He happily obliged n mum was shocked upon hearing his voice over my hp. She like to hear his cheerful voice since he was a DJ at a radio station. A gift money cant buy.

Went for another photoshoot. This time a request made looking for Cha to do the hair.

The studio was damn ulu n the taxi uncle made many turns here n there n even asked passersby. Luckily after about 5 mins we got the place n it was actually near the main road opposite of the coffee shop that is famous for the crabs. Duh!

Anyway this time only have to do one artiste who is no other than Ms Singapore Universe 2006 1st runner up, Jade Seah.

Been months since i update my blog...hahaha....during these mths i learnt lots of things from my korean mentor, Ms Cha Ha Kyeong who really being patient with me n oso very encouraging. Was glad i'm under her as she is very responsible for things she do and she is very happy working with me. I'm happy under her too.

However there r ups n downs, jealousy n back stabbing but just let it pass by n see where the river flows. It's the society n unavoidable everywhere.

Went to a studio at Telok Kurau to assist Cha for hairstyling Mediacorp artiste photoshooting. 4 gents n 4 ladies. Took some photos with them.

The rest i didnt took with them becos was kinda busy den n not so familiar with except Eileen. She was so photogenic n had such a sweet smile~~!! They all very coorperative n dun put on airs. We all can chat comfortably.

So weird...got a job in a salon n got to meet artistes n chat/crack jokes with them like very good friends....haha...fate?
A fruitful day. Haha~ however i notice i didnt took pics with Joanne Peh n Jade Seah at all whom i met almost every week...i will next time.

Started work at Shunji Matsuo Salon at Wellington (behind Park Hotel) on the 4th. Everything was so new to me. The style n methods there were so different from sch. Guessed i had to start from scratch. Even tho the work timings there is from 9-6 or 10-7 or 11-8, when reach home felt very tired n slept very early becos that place is very busy.

Got to know a new group of colleagues i will be working with. There r 3 japanese, 3 koreans, 3 locals n 1 china stylist and about 12 technicians n assistant. Some of them gave me the impression of very hao lian but turned out ok n willing to help n teach n pointed out my mistakes. Even from the very basic of washing the head.

Almost everyday i learn 2 - 3 things like using the digital perm machine, hilite, color, etc....not to say i dunno how to do but the style there was so different n i had to get used to it n oso speed up my skills. So far only 1 stylist who auto come n teach me is Qing, from china.

Currently there r a few seniors over there willing to teach me things over there so i could get used to life over there faster n help them out.
However i was attached under Cha, a korean stylist. I think she was quite unhappy with the company arrangement as previously she was not given the assitant she wanted n now got a zero experience fresh grad from sch goondu. Tho she might be unhappy n maybe worry i may become a hindrance to her but i assured her i try my best n told her not to worry. I feel so lousy over there as i had the least experience in this line. I need to work doubly hard to become her reliable assistant asap. Even tho i talked to my boss about this case, very nicely he told me slowly get things done n dun worry so much as i am new. But cant help it i feel stressed.

Gotta start bringing my menniquin over there to practice amap n honed my skill n technique. However, Cha is friendly n willing to teach me new techniques. I cant let her down. Nvm about the commission i may have missed out but it would be something $ cant buy.

Many things happened in 2006. New courses start....met new frens...had new adventures...did new things...wonder wad will happen in 2007.

Watched Team Medical Dragon (Iryu) n it was absolutely fabulous! It's about a doctor by the name of Asada Ryutaro who searched for a team to perform high difficulty level in heart surgery (Batista ; heart operation that involve shrinking of the heart to the original size that had expanded due to viral attack. Few cases r successful.)

Other than the drama, the songs were nice especially Aesthetic by Sekiyama Ihata. A very peaceful song.

2/1/07 My last day in Paris Miki :(

Its my (temporary) last day in Paris Miki ...had been working there since 28th March 2004. Been thru many fun times, bad times n met wonderful pple who were helpful to me n gave me advices thru out the past yrs i've been working 2gether. I've learnt alot from them. I enjoyed working with them. It'll be a memorable part of my life. (Dun feel very good at this moment...felt unwilling but had to..)

Left becos i had to do wad i shld n its time. Cant possibly to dwell in PM to update n file in charts n be despatch for the whole life. I shld be doing something more meaningful. Yes, i would be working as an assistant at Shunji Matsuo Salon Orchard (behind heeren) on the 4th. Its a rocky n tough road for this trade. I got to endure. I cant let my friends who trusted n believed in me down. Especially Richard Wong (print tshirt uncle at Far East Plaza), my mentor who encouraged me to take up Hairstyling. He had high aspect from me.

Takes 2 years to reach the Start point of the race n many to reach the Goal.

Recently got a link of the anime Macross on youtube from Acktosh. Its a flashback of the songs sung by Lynn Ming May all the way since Super Dimension Fortress Macross started in 1982. All classic songs especially a favourite song to many n to me. "愛, おぼえていますか? Do you Remember Love?" by Iijima Mari. It has been 23 yrs n yet it sounds so nice...so evergreen.. So calming n touching. Hear n you will understand wad i mean.

End Oct : Bought Dynasty Warrior 2 for my PSP n had been playing for wks to explore n conquer everything. Totally different gameplay from the first one. Both had their nice points tho. Now waiting to get Justice League Heroes, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, etc....but no $$ leh...si beh jialat...plus owe sch $$ some more...gotta sell my stuffs away already....

Also celebrated for Simon's upcoming bday on 4th Nov at Party world organised by Roy and its a chance for friends n colleagues to gather n had fun. We did sabo-ed Simon by applying cake n cream on his nose n face.

I'm back from Genting highlands with my mum. woah...seems like i have been touring again since 1 mth ago to Bangkok.

The trip was from 25th to 27th. Took a morning bus ride at 730am n reached there about 230pm. 7 hours. Luckily it was Grassland coach n they provided large seats n a small screen to watch movies or play games.

It has changed quite alot since i was there 5 yrs ago. shopping was great...bought some tees which in Sg dun have at reasonable pricings. Food not so nice n ex but no choice la...hotel area...except for the International Buffet at Highland Resort. 1 person about SGD26. Super good n worthy.

Went gambling abit n didnt won much. It was more for fun n i dun expect to win any becos YOU CANT WIN IN GAMBLING!!! 10 GAMBLE 9 LOSE!!!

Took the Skyway Cable Car on the 2nd day. Its 3.4KM n took 15mins to reach another destination. It's the fastest cable car ride in the world.

In Japan superstitions, it is considered lucky to have tea leaves floating on the tea cup. I had one standing below n one floating.

Dunno was it becos of the superstition it happened or wad....the day i checked out i went to play jackpot again n won RM140 straight n a overseas call from SG saying i won Air Tix to Phnom Penh,Cambodia!!! Didnt expect myself to be so lucky as i tot i had 'giam-chye-mia' (salty veg life). Hehe...now waiting for the letter to come...hahaha....

31/8 Working at Parco branch. Helped out at the stock take there (quite relaxing) n went to K-Box with Jes, Sally, Elaine, Xiao Jia n Xiao Qi. All i did was eat, drink n relax one corner to hear they all sing. BWahaha..that's wad i did for ktv sessions. I dun sing.

4/9 Discovered Sticky rice with durian/mango/jackfruit at Small Thailand at Beach Road (opp HQ). Super nice n brings back memories in Bangkok which was about 2 wks ago~~!!! Will go back there to bluff myself if i have the crave for eating thai food at Bangkok.

5/9 Accompanied Ah Soon Soh (Xiao Qi) on my skiving time to Far East to collect n check on her new HP (N72). It was pink color n look very nice n sophisticated. It comes with all the necessary basic stuffs which to me is a good choice if ever the idea of buying a new HP comes in mind. I believe the price would drop slowly due to its function n appearance as like the N7610.

6/9 MY BUDDY Ki's Birthday! It was her 21st bday but the timing just sucks. She couldnt hold a big party as it is midwk n had exams at 7pm until 830pm. So as not to make it look so sad i pontang class to meet her for lunch at Billy Bombers. The drinks there was super. The food serving is BIG. Even surprised her with the Hard Gay version of Pirate Barrel (prepared for 3 mths already) which she wanted so much but cant afford. FuUuUuUuU~~~

At nite after work i met up with Xiao Na, Xiao Da, Xiao Er n Xiao Qi at newton circle there to feast. Had a heavy lunch n dinner on the same day but i enjoyed myself. Such small gatherings are great. Relaxing n stress relieving. Better than go chiong n waste $ to get tired.

Die man....holiday mood still persist. Every morning wake up will think of the times at Bangkok. Wad am i doing there at this time n such. Now feel so sien at work...i shld be enjoying life if only i dun have to make ends meet....wtf wtf wtf~!!!

Maybe i shld go Genting next mth....for the sake of going overseas n enjoying life becos my scheduled life bored me. Argh!

Holiday mood since coming back....n been mooding until now...everyday woke up n thinking of wad am i doing there at the same time....but den i had to go school n work....so bored..my heart in bangkok....argh..

Can see a person's true character even a few days trip...can see how 'sum-pat' n how aunty they can get...bwahahaha....the way they walk n bargain n talk really left me a different impression of them n realised this is how real shoppers are like!!!

One thing quite amazing there is the tuk-tuk. They r like cockraoches can go thru any roads in any directions as long it reaches the destination, even passing by small n narrow alleys. Another thing is their cables. U can see them stretched here n there n everywhere possibleas long they stay in line. Hahaha.

It has been a fun trip...too bad its kinda short but hopefully the time will come again...

To Room 302, thank you all for making this trip worth while n fun. It has been worthy. Cartoon Car!

Day 3 - Woke up damn early to call room 302 to wake them up for the last day of shopping...n i called them at 630am instead of 730am due to mistake in tuning the clock alarm n got scolded. This time we r ready to chiong the last minute shopping after breakfast.

We intended to go Platinum but since it was early we shopped around the hotel area n Indra Garment Centre to find more stuffs. Bought a bag to pack my shopping goods n food in and managed to buy 2 Superman n a Batman tshirt which i didnt get at Suan Lum Night Bazaar as it was quite ex. Time passed very fast n we rushed back to the hotel to pack everything n check out. Sien ah....if only got 1 more day we can buy wadever we left out earlier on.... (T.T)

Reached the airport n proceed with the check in...since we had some baht left we decided to spend on food n drinks n Room 302 bought some really horrible tasting fruit juice. Luckily mine was different taste.

On the plane i get to see the clouds on the sky which were so fluffy u will feel like rolling n bouncing all over the place as wad Xiao Qi felt like. Oh yeah, she sat beside me again. Fated one lor! But this time due to not enuff slp, eat little , shop alot i slept thru the journey except for the meals.

Nite 4- Once at Changi airport i felt so relieved i dun have to keep a lookout for Room 302 anymore! they can go wherever they want i dun care! Becos in SG la..hahaha...Xiao Na luggage is heaviest one...terrible kiddy....shopping queen.. (-_-")
Sent her home n proceed back to mine. That ends the Bangkok trip which i am looking forward to the next one soon...with Room 302.
